AEO for digital and marketing agencies helps businesses choosing an agency and agencies looking for partners find, trust and choose you. Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) structures your content so search engines and assistants can lift a direct answer from it: featured snippets, People Also Ask boxes, AI Overviews, voice answers and chat replies.
Shortlists from search, referrals and AI tools, then portfolio, process and pricing review. Buyers increasingly ask full questions and accept the first good answer they see.

Who searches in digital and marketing agencies, and how they decide
The people you need to reach are businesses choosing an agency and agencies looking for partners.

Is this right for you?
- People Also Ask boxes for your topics never show your site
- Sales keeps hearing the same questions your site does not answer clearly
- Your pages bury the answer under long introductions
- Voice assistants read out a competitor's answer
- You rank on page one but competitors own the featured snippet

How I work
- Collect questions. Pull questions from Search Console, PAA, competitors, support tickets and sales notes.
- Prioritise. Rank them by buying intent and gap: where a better answer could realistically win.
- Write and restructure. Lead with the answer, then support it with steps, data, examples and sources.
- Mark up and link. Add matching schema and connect answers through internal links and hubs.
- Track and refresh. Watch snippet and AI citation changes and refresh answers when the SERP shifts.
Answer formats and when they win
| Question type | Best answer format | Example |
|---|---|---|
| What is / definition | One clear paragraph of 40 to 60 words | What is GEO? |
| How to | Numbered steps with a short intro | How to add schema in WordPress |
| Comparison | Table with 3 to 6 rows | AEO vs GEO vs SEO |
| Cost / time | Range with the factors that move it | How long does SEO take? |
| Best / top | Short list with criteria | Best AI tools for SEO |

Frequently asked questions
Do you have experience with digital and marketing agencies?
The approach is tailored to how businesses choosing an agency and agencies looking for partners research and decide: shortlists from search, referrals and AI tools, then portfolio, process and pricing review. Specific examples and references can be discussed on a call.
Do zero-click answers hurt my traffic?
They can reduce clicks on simple questions, but they build brand recall and often lead to branded searches later. The aim is to win the answers that lead to high-intent follow-up clicks.
What is the difference between AEO and SEO?
SEO aims to rank pages; AEO aims to be the answer itself. AEO builds on SEO, because engines usually pull answers from pages they already trust, but it changes how each page is written and structured.
Is AEO the same as GEO?
They overlap. AEO focuses on direct answers in search features and assistants; GEO focuses on being cited and recommended inside generative AI answers. In practice I run them together.
How quickly can a snippet be won?
Sometimes within days of a page being recrawled, sometimes never if the competitor answer is stronger. That is why I target a portfolio of questions rather than betting on one.
Will FAQ schema still help?
Google shows FAQ rich results for very few sites now, but well-written FAQ content and accurate markup still help engines and AI tools understand the page. The content matters more than the markup.
